Wildcat Marathoners

The Wildcat Marathoners (WM) program inspired local school children to stay active through a fun and engaging walking/running, promoting a healthy, active lifestyle. Participating schools will set up their own walking/running club at their school with a goal of meeting at least once per week, supported by school staff, interns, and/or parent volunteers. Students track laps using punch cards and receive "fitness finder charms" as incentives when they reach mileage milestones.

The WM program encourages young students to be physically active during their lunchtime recess, encouraging them to accumulate miles as they work toward completing a half (13.1 miles) or full marathon (26.2 miles) over time. Currently, over 200 runners/walker in 1st and 6th grade participate in the program, building healthy habits and confidence with every mile.

Who can attend Wildcat Marathoners?

Wildcat Marathoners is currently available to students enrolled at participating schools, with St. Peter and Paul as the current site. At this time, the program is not open for community-wide enrollment.
