Biography:
Dr. Sbarra is an Associate Professor of Psychology and Director of Clinical Training in the University of Arizona’s Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. He also hold affiliated faculty appointments in the Division of Family Studies and Human Development and the Evelyn F. McKnight Brain Institute. His research program focuses on social relationships and health. Dr. Sbarra has published many studies on how people cope with relationship transitions, the association between marital status and mortality risk, as well as the links between health-relevant biomarkers, relationship functioning, and emotional responding. He has substantial expertise in quantitative methodology for the analysis of change. His research is supported by the National Institutes of Health as well as the National Science Foundation.
